For a while, I was clueless about what I was going to write
for E. Nothing seemed to be appropriate. Thanks to the small kid who was asking
his father about why he kept hearing his own voice over and again, for having
given me another idea for my blog :-)
Just so you know, echoes aren't restricted to Physics alone,
they have a lot of significance in our everyday lives too.
Wikipedia says, Echoes are reflections of sound, arriving at the listener some time after the direct sound.
Think about this. There is one world. Some people like to
live here, some people don’t. Some people are always cynical, while some can’t
stop lavishing praises on its beauty. But still, there is just this one world.
How is all this possible?
Though there might be just one world, the way each person
looks at it is different. What might be endearing for one might be intimidating
to the other. I vividly remember reading somewhere that what we get back from
the world depends on how we look at it. For instance if we look at it lovingly,
we would feel loved in return. If we look at it with hatred, we would
definitely feel the same feeling coming back to us. So what we give, comes
right back to us.
That is the reason many self help books focus on the need to
stay positive and to develop a positive attitude. When I was young, my Grandma
used to narrate so many stories. All of them had the same moral. Be good, do
good and think good. She used to emphasize that irrespective of whatever
happens, we must never steer away from the path of goodness. She used to say
that God maintained a book for all of us in which he notes down our vice and
virtues. When the appropriate time
comes, God would reward or punish us depending on which side the scales tilted.
We might not know when and how our good/bad deeds would
appear before us. So in the most life threatening situations, when one hopes
for something good to happen, people call it a miracle. Actually, it’s not a miracle;
it is just our good deeds coming back to us. Similarly, our whole world might
come crashing down in a second that is our not-so-good deeds coming back to us.
So what I learned is, never to interfere much with the ways
of life. All we have to do is to stay true to ourselves. If we are good, God
will bless us with good things. If somebody hurts us, we need not take the trouble
of seeking vengeance, their own deeds would come back to them, tenfold. All we
have to do is to be true to ourselves.

Golden words repeated :P
hehe good take, now what about "F" ???
:)
Hey thank you :-) and I'm still waiting for an idea to shape up :-)
DeleteHaha this ABC Challenge is going to be quite the challenge :D
ReplyDeleteHey nice to see you here after a long time. And yes, it's proving to be quite a challenge :-) Looking forward to seeing you here!
DeleteHow true! Each word here is a priceless pearl of wisdom that we need to keep reminding ourselves to lead a healthy life. Mornings become just a little more brighter when you come across posts like these. Thank you for adding that extra bit of sunshine! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my :-) Really Glad Arti that this post was able to brighten your day :-) Thank You :-)
DeleteA good one... lets' see what you come up with for F :)
ReplyDelete;)
Delete:-)
DeleteHey thank You :-), I'm still looking for something :-)
DeleteThe concept of Karma is very valid. Science cannot help people overcome Karma, as some people conveniently think. There are certain unwritten laws that our world follows. Karma is one of them, but there is no scientific proof for it. Hence, people are taking their chances. But time and again, it has been proved (and people know it inside, even if they don't accept it outside) that they get back (with interest), for all the bad deeds done by them. The payback happens in this life itself. At least that's what I think.

Completely agree with your thoughts. There are some things that goes beyond science and this is one such. People might pretend to dismiss the fact about karma but one will definitely have to reap the fruits of the seeds they sow.
DeleteYour thought and opinion must be discussed from not a hypothetical plain of a benevolent and all overseeing God and his dispensation. That will just want to achieve the answer you most desire.
ReplyDeletePlease see a few lines here from J.Krishnamoorthy.”Karma implies, does it not, cause and effect, action based on cause, producing a certain effect; action born out of conditioning, producing further results. So karma implies cause and effect. And are cause and effect static, are cause and effect ever fixed? Does not effect become cause also? So there is no fixed cause or fixed effect. Today is a result of yesterday, is it not? Today is the outcome of yesterday, chronologically as well as psychologically; and today is the cause of tomorrow. So cause is effect, and effect becomes cause, it is one continuous movement: there is no fixed cause or fixed effect….”
I guess you should perhaps read his discussion on “Karma” to see where your understanding stands. It will be interesting. Try to get out of the comfort of the cocoon, break free (most of us try but fail) , then , you may have a different understanding based on truth and not desire.
Also one must keep in mind not wear blinkers when we look at life. Believing is asking for the desired result.
Good that you initiated a fine topic for discussion.
I had to read this almost thrice to make sure I understood every word of it. What you said is valid. Hypothetical scenarios somehow end up giving what we desire. But what I would like to take from the lines quoted here is that,"Cause is effect and Effect becomes cause" so in turn, what we are, is the result of our actions and deeds.
DeleteThanks for sharing those lines :-)
Absolutely true!! sometimes we need to let out that first note of positivism and wait for the positive note to echooo in return!!
ReplyDeleteDo visit my blog! Would love to see you by! *cheers*
Yes, Exactly. What goes around, definitely comes around :-)
DeleteMurpagal nattal, pirpagal vilayum, is a priceless Tamil proverb. And so it is in real world, and sometimes the cause and effect transcend births too.
ReplyDeleteYes Zephyr. With time and technology people seem to think that all this is just a farce, but our lives are all based on our actions.
DeleteMakes a lot of sense.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rachna :-)
DeleteAshwini - The last line nailed it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Ramaa :-)
DeleteRightly said .Much depends on our perception . We get what we look for. Long back I read somewhere :
ReplyDelete"Two prisoners looked out from their bars
The one saw mud , the other saw stars....".
Acceptance and not resistance is the key to happiness !
Yes, perspective matters a lot, specially in times of crisis.
DeleteQuite interesting :D Good you are still continuing with it
ReplyDeleteThanks Prashanth. Aquarians don't give up easily :-D
DeleteAll we have to do is to be true to ourselves.:) absolutely dear friend.how u doing? wishes ashwini
ReplyDeleteThank you Ramesh Ji. I'm fine, how are you? :-)
Deletewell written..and specially "Be good, do good and think good" has got imprinted in my eyes..:P..:D
ReplyDeleteOh. I'm happy :-)
DeleteLovely Lovely wonderfully written, what an insight on the topic :) liked it ash:)
ReplyDeleteNow I am very curious for posts on other alphabets :)
Thank you So much Ramya :-), Back from your Holiday? And yes, watch out for the other posts :-)
DeleteAshwini, as the ABC challenge rolls on, it sure is going to be more and more interesting as your readers would like to guess what the next word would be.. E for Echo is a fantastic selection. Since childhood we were surprised at how someone is repeating the same words with the same expression as ours - till the physics lectures happened! :D And its also a nice way to understand life and how to live as you have mentioned it here.. Great post Ashwini :)
ReplyDeletePS: Infact, why don't you ask your readers to suggest the next word and pick the one you think will be appropriate. Just a suggestion yaar. Would be fun :)
Thank you Binu. Glad that you liked it :-) and yes I could probably do with a few suggestions :-) Thanks for the idea :-)
DeleteYou echo my thoughts:)
ReplyDeleteThank You Sir :-)
DeleteI think this was one of the most thoughtful posts I have read of yours. I agree with you, its all in our minds, if we look at the world lovingly, we would get back the love. Same goes with hatred. When you think beautiful, everything else around you looks beautiful, I had been in that state of mind for a long time many years ago, now I have fallen off that phase, unfortunately. But kudos to you for bringing out this aspect of human thinking. Very pure thoughts, almost naive, I would say. :D
ReplyDeleteThank You Akshay :-) in this context, I will take it as a compliment :-)
